Dates of Klabb: 3rd July - 7th September
Break: 13th - 26th of August

Klabb Ċekċik is a programme designed to give a taster of various arts and crafts to children between the ages of 6 and 10. The multidisciplinary approach ensures that every child gets to learn basic principles and techniques in various art forms. The skills learnt are meant to be transferable to other disciplines and areas of life.

They will learn the basics of image composition in photography, get an appreciation of different textures and materials in paper crafts and book binding, understand the importance of process prior to execution in print making and pottery...in an atmosphere that promotes peer-to-peer collaborative learning. The programme is intended to be failure-friendly encouraging children to play and experiment.

The children will also be tasked to present their artistic experiments in a final event at the end of the programme
A maximum of 15 children will be welcomed in the programme.
Sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9am-12 noon at Studio Solipsis, Rabat.

FAQs

Q. What is unique about the Klabb?
The programme is designed to give the children a toolkit of skills and principles that they can transfer to and apply in a wide range of scenarios. We promote a philosophy that valorises every component of the design process from the initial conceptual mapping to the testing phase and then to the final execution. We believe that within the framework of inventiveness one has to allow for experimentation and failure - who gets it perfectly right the first time round anyway?
We therefore want our children to accept failure as an essential stop along the way towards excellence.  It is an approach that nurtures the self-acceptance and  self-discipline necessary to grow in their problem solving abilities.

Q. Do the children have to bring their own art supplies?
We provide all the materials needed for the sessions. All the children have to bring with them is their lunchbox and their smiles.

Q. What is the minimum age to join the Klabb?
The Klabb is designed for children aged six or over. Younger children might not benefit as fully from the sessions.

Q. Can I stay with my child when I drop them off?
At the Klabb we encourage the children to grow in individual responsibility and independence and would like to share this vision with the parents. If, for any reason, the child is not happy to leave the parents and stay for the session we recommend parents first try to appease the child and take it from there. We will address situations on a case by case basis.

Q. Can I buy a gift voucher for my friend’s children?
Yes, gift vouchers are available and customers buying vouchers can still benefit from group and sibling discounts. Vouchers are redeemable on presentation of an ID card. Vouchers are not redeemable for cash.

Q: What is the deadline for applying for the Klabb?
Applications close on the 30th of June
